The Bridgewood is one of the best places, in my opinion, in the Fox Valley to have a wedding reception and this past weekend, was no exeption.
Donny & Sindhu were actually married on November 1st in Dallas, TX, but they had a 2nd reception at the Bridgewood for family and friends in this area. I must admit, it’s nice to have non traditional weddings once in a while. This reception, had it’s own challenges. I think I spent about two to three months practicing name pronunications.
It was one of only a few Indian receptions we have done. The night played to a host of ”Indian custom’s and traditions.” Donny & Sindhu’s reception began with a cocktail hour where we played a mix of Michael Buble, Norah Jones and Diana Krall, along with several of their Indian Music favorites. We introduced the bridal party and family members at the beginning, where Donny & Sindhu’s mom welcomed them with a Garland ceremony, an Indian tradition. This was followed by the lighting of the lamps, and then the cake cutting, and several toasts, all prior to dinner.
I absolutely loved their room decor, and centerpieces.
]Sindhu was dressed in an elegant red gown, and the room was decorated in White and red, with red roses as part of the centerpiece design.
The cake table was white/red, and was inserted between a large four post canopy. Instead of a head table, Donny & Sindhu had a “sweetheart couple” table with just them up on a platform. It was elegant.
We mixed the music up throughout the night with several American wedding favorites along with several Indian tunes mixed in. It was a fantastic night!
