Bowser/McCarthy Reception 11/14/08

100_2738Another Friday night wedding!  I love it, two weeks in a row to have a full weekend to enjoy.  Wes & Megan’s wedding and reception were at the Heidel House Resort in Green Lake.     This is one of my favorite couple’s as I will always forever refer to Megan as the “Grey’s Anatomy” bride.  We both love the show.  I kind of chuckled last night, as the first thing she said I was setting up last night was, “What happened on Grey’s last night, I missed it, because we had the rehearsal.”   Anyway.   I loved the layout of the room, the centerpieces were really original, rod iron tree’s filled with leaves and candles, to represent the fall atmosphere.  It was really cool!   100_2736

The staff of the Heidel House was amazing.  The ceremony was at 3pm in the Dartford Ballroom, the same room as the reception.  As soon as the ceremony concluded, the staff transformed the room into an amazing Fall atmosphere, in no time at all.   If your looking for elegance and intimacy, check out the Heidel House for your reception!  It was a very intimate night, 80 guests, but they really knew how to party!

We started the night with Megan & Wes’s first dance, “At Last” by Etta James, a total classic!   Megan danced with her dad to “Because You Loved Me” by Celine Dion, and Wes danced with his mom to “In This Life” by the Beatles, another great classic!    Wes & Megan picked out most of the music for the night in advance, and while its safe to say, I don’t really like having a request list of more than 60 songs, they really knew there crowd.  The guests danced all night to classics like, “Dancing Queen, Little Willy, Like A Prayer, and A little Less Conversation.”   100_2749

We did the anniversary dance, and the longest married couple of 35 years, presented Wes & Megan with some marriage advise.  A little after 9pm, we did the bouquet toss to Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, and the Bouquet Toss to the Theme song from Dumb and Dumber (A Favorite of Wes’s).

I was awestruck by the number of requests for “Jump on It” by Sir Mix A Lot, Im not quite sure what it is with that song, but everyone seems to love it, must be making a big comeback or something.   Instead of the dollar dance, Megan and Wes had a 50/50 raffle, and then drew for the winner at 10pm, what a cool idea!   Everyone benefited from that one.   We ended the night at 11:30 with “I’ve Had the Time of My Life” by Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes.    It was a fantastic night!   Congratulation Wes & Megan.
