Lemke/Stein Reception 11/7/2008

I love Friday weddings!  You can still enjoy the rest of your FULL weekend.  We have done many events at the Bridgewood Resort in Neenah, but this reception was truly unique.   The room looked fantastic!  On several tables were long vases with beautiful floral arrangements.   The photographer was Sonntag photography in Oshkosh, WI., they were awesome!   They stayed until the event was done, it’s rare that you see that in a photographer.

I also want to thank the staff of the Bridgewood for a first, my van’s battery died, while I was setting up in the afternoon.  They gave me a jump, I am just it wasn’t an omen of how the rest of the night was going to go.   It was a fantastic night!  The practical jokes started during dinner, when one of the groomsmen played the “key gag,” I swear every lady in the Bridgewood came up and dropped their key in the box for Tom.

We started the dance portion of the reception with an icebreaker for the kids, musical hula hoops, even Tina was out their participating in it.   A great idea to get rid of some pent up energy from dinner.   We followed that with Tom & Tina’s first dance, “I Cross My Heart” by George Strait and then Tina danced with her dad, Pete to “I Loved Her First” by Heartland.   Once the open dancing got started, the guests were “lit up!”  literally with a sea of glow necklaces compliments of Tina.  An excellent enhancement idea, I might add!

Lots of interaction followed, Tina led the train to Hot, hot, hot, and we played everything from “We Are Family” to the “Car Wash” and ”Cha Cha Slide.”    Tom & Tina were truly pratical jokers.  Tom changed the Grand March song at the last minute to “Save a Horse, Ride A Cowboy, to go along with their cowboy theme.  Each couple entered the room with a rope pulling Tom & Tina on a cart in back.   How original, it was unique.  The Bridal Party then danced to ”Sweet Caroline” followed by the bouquet toss to ”Wishin and Hopin” from My Best Friends Wedding.    The Garter Toss was truly original.  Tom had plenty up his sleeve.  One of the groomsmen moved a table out to the dance floor, covered with a table cloth, and crawled under the table.  Everytime Tom went to grab from under Tina’s dress, he was handed an item, everything from a bottle of wine to handcuffs and anything else you can think of.     Truly, a show for the guests.

As the night drew to a close, we still had a full dance floor, and for several songs, you could hear Tom and his friends, belting out the songs from the top of their lungs.   What a party!
